The Accounting and Finance curriculum is designed to provide students with the knowledge and the skills necessary for employment and growth in the accounting and finance profession. Accountants and finance professionals assemble and analyze, process, and communicate essential information about financial operations. Course work includes accounting, finance, business law computer applications, financial planning, insurance, marketing, and real estate. Related skills are developed through the study of communications, critical thinking skills and ethics.

Graduates should qualify for entry-level accounting positions in many types of organizations including accounting firms, small businesses, manufacturing firms, banks, hospitals, school systems, and government agencies. With work experience and additional education, an individual may advance in the accounting and finance profession.

Note: BCC has articulation agreements with Western Carolina and UNCG that allow students who complete an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Accounting at BCC to transfer to their 4-year institution.

BCC also offers Accounting and Finance Diploma and Certificate options.

Must complete all non-nursing courses with a grade of C or higher. All nursing courses must be completed with an exam average of 80 or higher.

Must score at least a 59 or higher on the required TEAS nursing entrance exam. Exam must be completed before applying to the AND program. Scores are only good for 3 years.

BCC has an articulation agreement with UNCP for ADN graduates interested in pursuing their BSN. Please speak to an advisor for further information.

With an Associate in Arts (AA) degree students are able to complete the coursework equivalent of the first two years of 4-year bachelors degree programs and upon graduation often transfer to 4-year institutions with junior status.

When students complete the AA degree, they are prepared to transfer and begin work on Bachelors degrees in the liberal arts and/or pre-professional fields such as education, law, and business at any of the 16 public universities of The University of North Carolina (UNC) system and many private universities.

The Associate in Engineering (AE) degree plan includes required general education and prerequisite courses that are acceptable to all state funded Bachelor of Engineering programs. Students who follow the degree progression plan will meet the entrance requirements at all of the North Carolina public Bachelor of Science Engineering programs. Associate in Engineering graduates may then apply to any of these programs without taking additional and sometimes duplicative courses. Admission to Engineering programs is highly competitive and admission is not guaranteed.

The Business Administration curriculum is designed to introduce students to the various aspects of the free enterprise system. Students will be provided with a fundamental knowledge of business functions, processes, and an understanding of business organizations in todays global economy.

Coursework includes business concepts such as accounting, business law, economics, management, and marketing. Skills related to the application of these concepts are developed through the study of computer applications, communication, team building, and decision-making. Through these skills, students will have a sound business education base for lifelong learning. Graduates are prepared for employment opportunities in government agencies, financial institutions, and large to small businesses or industries.

Note: BCC and UNCG have an articulation agreement allowing students who complete an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Business Administration at BCC to transfer to UNCG into Bryan School of Business and Economics.

The Business Administration curriculum is designed to introduce students to the various aspects of the free enterprise system. Students will be provided with a fundamental knowledge of business functions, processes, and an understanding of business organizations in todays global economy.

Coursework includes business concepts such as accounting, business law, economics, management, and marketing. Skills related to the application of these concepts are developed through the study of computer applications, communication, team building, and decision-making. Through these skills, students will have a sound business education base for lifelong learning. Graduates are prepared for employment opportunities in government agencies, financial institutions, and large to small businesses or industries.

Note: BCC and UNCG have an articulation agreement allowing students who complete an Associate in Applied Science Degree in Business Administration at BCC to transfer to UNCG into Bryan School of Business and Economics.

BCC also offers Business Administration Diploma,Certificate泭 and Small Business Entrepreneur Certificate options.
